Editor CHARLES SUHOR will discuss and read from his Sure’s stunning
book of short stories, poems, and aphorisms.

The life of Stephan Sure, born John Gregory Suhor, began serenely and
ended violently in New Orleans. Sure kept with him three notebooks
comprising The Book of Rude. Born from these rude witticisms is this
collection of short stories, poems, and aphorisms, collected and
edited after his death in 1999 by his father, New Orleans writer
Charles Suhor.

Kudos for The Book of Rude and Other Outrages--

“I was stunned by Stephan Sure’s ability to express his time and
place…. French Quarter life erupts from the page.” From the Foreword
by Lee Meitzen Grue

“Like Ginsberg’s Howl, Stephan Sure’s writings vent the passion,
lust, violence, wit, and cynicism of a life lived intensely on the
far side.”--Tom Sancton, author, Song for My Fathers: a New Orleans
Story in Black and White

“Readable, intelligent… a smart, original, sardonic voice, often
angry, always compelling." Joel Fletcher, author, Ken and Thelma: The
Story of A Confederacy of Dunces

“Comically brilliant”—American Book Review, July-August, 2008
