The South Coast Clay All Stars announces its first biannual Ceramic Arts
conference in 
New Orleans: 


NOLA Fired Up!!! A Weekend of Clay in New Orleans

February 29-March 2, 2008. 

The NOLA Fired up Website is now online with secure registration at:

www.nolafiredup.org 

Conference activities include lectures and demonstrations by nationally
prominentceramic artists with ties to the region including Margaret Bohls,
Joe Bova, Cynthia 
Bringle, MaPo Kinnord Peyton and Lana Wilson. Educational and networking 
opportunities for professional artists and students will be provided such as
a panel 
discussion by the Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF) on insurance concerns
for artistsas well as topical discussion sessions about the arts, Community
and the environmental 
impact of artists in the studio. The conference will be kicked off on
February 29 with the 
outdoor event, "Fire on the River on the Mississippi River. The event will
feature 
sculptural kilns construction and demonstrations. 

There are over 35 ceramic art exhibitions planned for the conference,
including the the 
NOLA Fired UP Invitational, located in galleries citywide with coordinated
art opening 
receptions. The program includes live entertainment that is uniquely New
Orleans and 
other surprise guests. Opportunities for program attendees to participate in
ceramic art 
'volunteerism' 
are planned and vendor tables and booths will be available. 

The South Coast Clay All Stars is an alliance established by ceramic artists
in NewOrleans and the region in order unify, strengthen and support the
ceramic arts and visual 
artists communities in the region of Louisiana and the Southern states.
